Akava’s Working Life Tour 2012 at the University of Oulu on 4 April
Akava’s Working Life Tour will arrive at the Linnanmaa Campus of the University of Oulu on 4 April.
The Tour will stop at more than 20 universities all over Finland during the spring. On the Tour, Akava – the Confederation of Unions for Professional and Managerial Staff in Finland and its affiliates will provide students with information about, for example, summer jobs, practical training and part-time work. This year the theme of the Tour is “equality in working life”.You will find us at our stand in the central lobby of the Linnanmaa Campus of the University of Oulu, address Pentti Kaiteran katu 1. The stand will be up on Wednesday 4 April from 9.30 a.m. –2.30 p.m.
The Tour focuses especially on information concerning summer employment, so be there to get your summer job guide (in Finnish only)! You will also find information about working alongside studies, practical training for university students, and employment after graduation. University employees can also come and meet the representatives of Akava and its affiliates.
Moreover, the Tour offers information about the benefits of getting organised. The purpose of Akava affiliates is to answer the students’ questions, improve the working conditions, and provide support and security throughout one’s career. The members of student activities in Akava affiliates will provide information about the membership and its benefits to the students. It’s a good idea to join already as a student!
