Knowledge of principal rights and duties of working life is important to both employees and employers. Labour legislation sets out basic rules of working life, while more detailed regulations are set out in collective agreements. The online guide to working in Finland provides links to further information available through the websites of trade unions, employers’ federations and other specialist agencies and organisations operating in working life in Finland.

The contents of the online guide to working in Finland have been compiled by the national labour and employer confederations of Finland (The Confederation of Unions for Professional and Managerial Staff in Finland Akava, The Central Organisation of Finnish Trade Unions - SAK, The Finnish Confederation of Professionals STTK, The Confederation of Finnish Industries EK, Commission for Local Authority Employers in Finland KT, The Office for the Government as Employer VTML and The Church Employer’s Office KiT). These organisations will also update the information on the website every six months.
